Andrew Mweemba has 26 years of leadership and functional experience in the retail industry.​

He started his career at Shoprite Zambia in 1995. While there he held various management positions as Trainee Manager, Administration Manager, Branch Manager and Regional Administration Manager. He also worked in Tanzania from 2002 to 2005 and later moved to Shoprite Nigeria as Training and Development Manager. In 2018 he returned to Zambia to take the role of Operations Manager and in 2019 he was appointed as General Manager, at Shoprite Kenya.​

He also worked in Botswana as General Manager before taking up his appointment as Chief Operating Officer in Retail Supermarkets Nigeria in July 2022 reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer. In his role, he is responsible for the development and implementation of operational strategies and plans that promote long-term success and growth.​
