Who we are
Retail Supermarkets Nigeria Limited, trading as Shoprite, is a leading supermarket chain formerly owned by Shoprite Holdings Limited (SHL), a company incorporated in South Africa.
The company opened its inaugural store in Lagos in December 2005 and has since grown to operate 25 stores across 14 states nationwide. To support its operations, the company has established a 4,732 square meter distribution center in Lagos, which enables direct sourcing from local farmers for Shoprite’s fruit and vegetable procurement and distribution. This strategic facility enhances the freshness and quality of products available to consumers while promoting local agriculture.
In May 2021, a significant transition took place when Persianas Investment Limited, through its special purpose vehicle, Ketron Investment Limited, completed the acquisition of RSNL from SHL. This acquisition enabled Ketron to assume ownership and management of the Shoprite stores in Nigeria.

This structure facilitates the flow of information from operational management up to the Board of Directors, reinforcing our commitment to transparency and responsible oversight.

RSNL was acquired by Ketron Investment Limited, Bank of Industry, MBO Capital Management and other Nigerian
